The government and the Foundations, whose owners are the people who choose the President and their cabinet, pay the archaeologists and fund the research. This leads to the funding of rags like Archaeology Magazine which people think is telling some truth. The Kensington Runestone shows how they manufacture lies and frauds and the Kennewick Man shows just one example of how they destroy sites while saying they protect sites. They will not research sites that show their theories are wrong and worse things happen when someone does - Manitoulin Island, Hueyatlaco, Acambaro for example.
